The best thing about trade fairs or other special gatherings with a given purpose or theme is that you have the chance to meet people with whom you share similar interests. You get to only speak briefly with some while with others you spend a little more time to find their story.
I’ve experienced both scenarios at International Jewellery London 2014, but my encounter with Hinna Azeem fits the second situation. She is a jewelry designer who grew up in London and has visited remote gemstone-rich regions, from Asia to Africa to South America, since childhood. I found out that, in terms of wearability, she really loves smoky quartz because she can get it in lots of different hues of brown.
As for her favorite jewelry items, Hinna was wearing them that day – her stacking rings, with sapphires and smoky Quartz.
